Luna Review and Giveaway!

Thank you to LUNA Protein for providing me a LUNA Protein sample pack to review. The opinions I've expressed here are solely my own and represent my honest viewpoint.

We interrupt our sewing 101 series with something exciting to share with you! A giveaway! Everyone loves free stuff and we like giving free stuff to you! (the series will pick back up tomorrow with garment friday!)

Luna asked me to try out their new Luna Protein bars, they are perfect for mom's on the go. As a mom on the go I quite agree. I think we can all agree that as mom's of youngsters they keep us busy. It is important to feel like we are feeding them healthy foods and helping them to grow. Sometimes I feel like I never leave the kitchen, constantly preparing something to eat for their hungry little growing busy bodies. When I do finally leave the kitchen it is to run out the door and get them to play group, preschool, or a million other activities we seem to do. What seems to be missing in the picture? Eating something healthy myself. I can't tell you how many mornings we are running around like crazy to get out the door on time with the kids fed and dressed only to discover I never ate. (eek) That is how Luna protein saved my day. The small little bar was quick and easy to grab, delicious and kept me going till lunch.
The day the Luna bars arrived happened to be the day we went for a hike up in the mountains. Let's just say it would not have been a great day to skimp of the nutrients of breakfast. I snatched up a bar and out the door we went with the kids all geared up for a hike. The bar left me fully satisfied and the protein really helped keep my energy level up. Enough to keep up with the kids :)
We made it all the way to the top! (thanks Luna!)

So my official review of the Luna Protein bars:

Pros:

  • They are small and easy to grab on the way out the door (or even on a busy morning around the house)

  • They are really good! (I mean really really good)

  • They are Gluten free! (A huge plus for my shwin counterpart who needs gluten free)

  • They are only 180 calories

  • They have natural and good for you ingredients no junk or fillers here

  • They keep me feeling full until the next meal.

Cons:

  • They do have a chocolate coating so in the summer months you can't just leave it in your car to enjoy on the go, without a mess on your hands.

  • They make me thirsty (as most bars do) so I do have to make sure I have a bottle of water with me as well.

Overall:
I really liked the bars, more than I thought I would since sometimes things that are full of protein don't taste that great. Also a lot of bars may taste pretty good but they are also so fake and processed that they don't really seem to be very good for you, I was really surprised by their ingredient list.No junk, just natural and some organic ingredients.  It was really easy to grab a bar and go, which works great with my schedule. I think they would also be great on just busy mornings or afternoons around the house when I have a million things to do and sitting down to lunch doesn't seem to happen. I would definitely purchase Luna Protein bars in the future. Chocolate Cherry Almond was my absolute favorite but all the flavors were delicious.

Now for the Good news!
