Bloom Top

Don't forget today is the last day to enter the Joy and Delight giveaway!

Next up in the KCWC I have another embellished top. So easy to make and a sewing machine is not nessisary. A simple top with a collar in full bloom.

Closely placed together "petals" give the top a floral note. The perfect way to make any top more personal.

I know tutorials for this type of thing have been around before but I couldn't find one so I went ahead and made one up.

Start by cutting out tons of circles. How many you will need depends on how full you want the neck to be. It's a great way to use up a bunch of scraps since that's all it takes really I used a variety of colors and fabrics.
Then grab a circle and fold it in half.
 Then in half again.
Then tack the "petal" in place where you want to start. For me it was up at the shoulder. The bottom should point down.
Continue layering the petals close together.
When you want to curve the shape start slanting the petals inward.

I started up at the top of both shoulders and worked my way to the middle, fading into the other colors.

That's all there is to it! Now you have a fun shirt in full bloom!

I just love the feminine details it adds to a once boyish and boring tank.
(jeans are the skinny jeans made here)

Enjoy!
