The Eleanor Dress

So with the launch of the Alphabet Collection, I have had fall sewing on the mind. Yep, fall is coming even if it is still blazing hot, and my kids didn't need any more summer clothing they need school clothing. So I returned to an old favorite from last year, the Eleanor Dress, a pattern from last fall. It's a favorite around these parts, and time to be re-done.
While I was sewing dress after dress I decided I really wanted to make a top. So you know after several requests for larger sizing anyway I went ahead and added larger sizes (now 12-18m-8years) as well as an option to make a shirt instead of a dress.
The collar option makes me swoon, I mean how fun is a big over sized cowl inspired collar? I liked mixing prints on this one. The yummy knits are from Girl Charlee, because they seriously have the best knits ever! I love soft knits and Abbey insists on wearing knit tops these days, she will mix in a few other items from time to time but if she dresses herself? Knits all the way.
This top is paired with the Lovely Rita Skinnies (yep love those too!)
While I was at it I also made her a new dress from some super soft french terry from Girl Charlee. It is so soft and has the best drape, and it's purple (mulberry actually :) So Abbey basically wants to live in it.
So the pattern still has the cute pleated skirt as the dress option, the collar and rib neck option, long and short sleeves which makes it perfect for fall, and the added top option.
I still love the dress its a great knit dress that is easy to wear dressed up or down and can even be layered with leggings which would be awesome when the colder weather comes.
Oh yes and inseam pockets, because pockets make everything better :)

Also good news! You can pick up any Fall Pattern 40% off! Use the code SUPERFALL (ending Sunday 8/4/13)
